This is Darrell. I’m the flight attendant for American Airlines that you met a couple of years back. I just wanted to say “Hi” and hope you are doing well.

As always, you post very good stuff. I had been thinking about this. Last year I was sick for 5 weeks from either a severe lung infection or Whooping cough but they couldn’t test me for it because I was already given antibiotics (The first time was with Amoxicilin which was ineffective). So one thing to point out is if you think you might have it. Ask for a culture test before you are given antibiotics.

Also, if you could put the state link for exemption to the report that would be nice.

Anyway, let me know the next time you fly on American. I’ll do my best to make sure you have a nice flight.

One last thing. If you are at the SFO airport, do not use your debit card. There are reports that someone is some how stealing debit & credit card numbers and are taking money out of checking accounts are making charges to credit cards. However, with credit cards you are more protected and can contest false charges. It’s a lot harder to recover money taken out of your checking account.

The article regarding the new airport x-ray I found to be most interesting, I did not even know that this policy was now in effect and I could not believe the aggravation and the ordeal that you had gone through with your personal experience.
I remember when my wife was flying from BWI airport the policy was to remove your shoes and place them through the x-ray machine, she was wearing sandals. She refused to remove her sandals because she did not want to walk on the carpet in her bare feet in fear of catching some kind of disease or illness from the carpet. She demanded that the airport should provide her with some kind of disposable stocking like they have when you go to a shoe store.
She walked through the metal detector and all the lights and alarms when off, security informed her that she need to be body searched. She asked why? Security informed her that they need to see what metal device she was concealing. The wand picked up the under wire in her bra, she informed security if you want me to perform strip tease show right here than you are going to pay me and she informed them that she refused to have a man look at her.
Security did take her into a private room and a woman looked at her when she opened her blouse. And she did take off her sandals and walked bare foot.”
