This form of combining lunch and press conferences under one roof is a tradition at the National Press Club.
I was sitting at the round table next to the Jeff Idelson's table (he is in the red tie to the right of the American flag), mingling with journalists from AP and Reuters and enjoying gourmet lunch, courtesy of the club.
We discussed favorite baseball players, phony stories, new media, bloggers, and of course, the steroids. Each of us was interested what would be discussed in the Q&A session after the formal speech.
I must say, Jeff Idleson presented a well crafted PR speech on behalf of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, the educational center and the museum.
He dedicated some time in his speech talking about steroids and emphasizing that "time would tell" how to better tell those stories, thus preventing any further questions on the subject.
Well done, Mr Idleson.
No more questions!
