For many of you who don't vote and don't follow elections out of boredom or disbelief in the system, let me remind you that California statewide consolidated election is happening next month. The ballots are due on May 19th. You might be seeing a ballot in the mail or reminders about it in the city. Don't throw it away!

Out of 7 proposed measures, I approved only two:

* Educational Funding, Prop 1B
* Limits for pay raises for elected officials during budget deficit years, Prop 1F

Only these two made sense. The rest of them asked for more money for things I wouldn't want to fund or decrease of funding for programs I wouldn't want to cut. Here is a copy of my ballot. Maybe it will make it easier for you to vote.

I know why people are skeptical. But I'm optimistic because I can see how we can improve the voting system. I have some ideas. But we have to vote first.
