Once you are in Kiev, do try to ride the cable car. It takes you from the bottom part of the red shore to the top and offers spectacular views of the hill and the river Dnepr. Only costs 50 cents UA.

My orchid is blooming for the first time in its life. This is a baby orchid that grew on top of its mother orchid, which I then planted into a separate pot.
Now I can say i raised an orchid as I watched it grow from little tiny knob into a beautiful plant.
Next time you are out camping try this Ukrainian specialty soup called "Ooha". It can be cooked on the stove, but best if cooked over fire.
Just add chopped potato, carrots and fish (carp, snapper or cat fish). Put it all into a big fire-safe pot, add water, salt & pepper to taste and cover with the lid. The soup is ready when potatoes are done. Just stick a fork in them to check.

Add chopped up green onion and parsley before serving if desired.
Enjoy!

I captured the beauty of the sun setting in the far end of Kiev called "Troeschina". Soon after the sun is gone, the amateur fireworks start their loud explosions almost every night now.

This cool carved wooden bench

This cool carved wooden bench sits in the park in Pacifica.
Pacifica city park workers carved it out of one of the trees they had to cut down while remodeling local park. It took them 3 days to make it because of how much carving and sanding goes into it. But when they finally finished it and put it in the park, everybody said "Wow, this is cool!".

There are now 3 benches like this throughout Pacifica.
Enjoy!

PS. Ron with the city parks said I am officially the first one who sat on it! I remember the first time I saw it, I couldn't take my eyes off it.
