About two months ago my dog Fila had his gum swollen refusing to eat hard food. I took him to the vet, we did a whole bunch of things including shots, blood tests and sedated ultrasonic teeth cleaning. That was about $600 in total.
I sighed, but agreed to pay. Fila is, after all, my baby.
Two months later, I went back to the vet because his gum got swollen again. The vet did another teeth cleaning (different kind), shot him with some antibiotic and prescribed some mouth rinse which smells like Listerine. He also charged me for the second office visit, claiming this was unrelated incident and happened because I didn't brush his teeth.
The second time my bill was $109. I paid that too. But now I'm wondering, why the hell did I pay $700 for the problem that didn't get fixed?
How many people brush their dog's teeth? And how often do they do it?
