The job hunting situation is getting pretty desperate. Take a look at this ad I found on Craigslist, popular classifieds site in Bay Area.
Looks like this job seeker is an experienced General Manager in the restaurant industry, making offers to potential employers like “hire me and I will give you half of my salary back”.. for the first 90 days and “GUARANTEEING” the employer will be happy with the results.
“I AM WILLING TO ACCEPT A POSITION IN RESTAURANT FOOD & BEVERAGE OR HOTEL MANAGEMENT AND RETURN BACK TO YOU, MY EMPLOYER 50% OF MY AFTER TAX (NET) EARNINGS TO YOU FOR THE FIRST 3 MONTHS OF EMPLOYMENT as proof of my seriousness to you about getting hired and accomplishing the goals and results that I am capable of producing for your business.”
This along with some ads offering as little as $5 per article for writers (the standard pay is $1 per word) is showing the job market, at least in Bay Area, is far for getting better.
