Thousands of people filled the streets of San Francisco during the festival of love and electronic music (aka Love Fest) on October 4, 2008. Dancing on streets, on the stage and in the cage was part of the fun…
The idea came from Berlin, where it was born and spread all over the world. San Francisco picked up on the drift several years ago and now throws this even annually, first weekend of October, opening a series of festivals.
Many local DJs spinned their records, including world-famous Armin Van Burn, and grateful crowd responded by dancing in ecstasy, some taking their clothes off, some completely.
Food and drinks were there to feed and rejuvenate tireless festival goers, who stayed on their feet from noon to almost 9pm.
It was funny how the festival ended. They just pulled the plug. No “thank you, come again.” Nothing. I thought someone tripped over a cord or something. But no, that was the end. Could have been thought through better. But oh, well. Live and learn.
