September 26th thru 29th was a 5th annual Red Marines campout, a weekend filled with music and art. I got ot the festival with my friends Dima (the DJ0, Yasha and Mike. We drove thru a long winding road that led us into the mountains. It felt really good to leave the city behind, it felt like a beginning of a great adventure. The drive was short , only about an hour to a beautiful location new Red Wood city. We drove in around 8 pm, by that time the lower tent was already setup and the main tent was just getting started. We setup a tent and started walking around. The first thing I saw was Lydia’s Organics produces high-quality dehydrated foods made from raw, organic, vegan ingredients. Snacks, pies, smoothies, drinks salads and more, yum !! All of the food was deliciously prepared and looked great.
Friday night was all about the lower stage, DJ Penta was on the tables , spinning some really good house and trance. I felt right at home, the music was full of melody and grooves. The fire was going and people were generally hanging out, drinking and smoking. It followed by Fractal Cowboys and DJ Vadim from NYC. It got pretty heavy around midnight, minimal techno was ruling the dance floor. Right6 by the dj booth was an altar with a beautiful red display on it, it really matched the mood. The lights were just perfect, not too bright, and just enough to keep people coming. By that time I was already well into my acid trip, everything became illuminated, I saw music take shapes and form, smiles were all around, it was a really warm setup. The morning came too soon, thank god for DJ Chlorophyl, some soothing , intelligent ambient was the order of the day. People were still dancing, the sun was coming up, and I caught a perfect melody that tied everything together just right, the people the place the experience, what a morning !@!!! I felt so clear and inspired , the world made perfect sense and the music reflected it.
Saturday was a lazy , hot day in the forest, with lots of fairies around and of course a classic view “Russians in the Wild”. People were sleeping under the trees , while hugging a “Russian Standard” bottles, some were singing others were cooking up borsch and laughing at the skinny American vegans that seem to follow the wind as it blue across the mountains. Bliss was in the air. Fire dancers were getting ready for the big show, the Reel Mobile was playing lazy tunes, while the main stage was firing rough, dirty groove, by Anatoliy Russki. I talked with some old hippies about the good old days, and continued down my smoky path.
Saturday night was a complete freak show. People got dressed in their Burning Man satins and The Firedancers owned the night, spinning and flying all around the “playa” as we began to call it now. Lights were flickering, singing was in the air as Chervona band did their thing on the stage. Then Mobius burned the house down, while people thru off their shows and started doing the “kozachok”.
At this time I realized that I had no sleep since Friday morning, and I retired into my “comfortable” tent, while the night raged on.
Sunday morning was a typical “utro v kuryatnike” as people wondered all over each others tent, and the smells of old tomatoes perfumed the air. It was time to get up and do it one more time, the reel mobile the main stage and all of the wonderful people that I met over the weekend. By 4 pm we were packed and ready to head back home, wow I had such a great time, is it really over ???

happy to see you tried acid I wish I could
